Many actors will be implicated into making “The Art of Pasta” resonate with the audience.
The Barilla Pasta World Championship will be a live piece of Art where everyone has a role to play to unveil the next Master of Pasta!
FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME ABROAD
This year, for the very first time, the Barilla Pasta World Championship is taking place in Paris. As a citizen of the world, Barilla wishes to show and share with the world the joyful and healthy Italian lifestyle. Indeed, Paris is not only the perfect capital to celebrate the 50th Barilla France anniversary, but also embodies this year’s theme “The Art of Pasta” due to the richness of France’s gastronomy culture and Art.
Close to the Place Vendôme and Opéra Garnier, the Pavillon Cambon offers an outstanding location entirely revisited for the occasion into a modern art gallery, where creativity shakes up the classical Paris. Olimpia Zagnoli, renowned Italian artist, took part in designing this ephemeral Art Gallery. She allies tradition and modernity in her Art while leaving/spreading hints related to her Italian culture and roots.
The event will be introduced by two special hosts: the Master of Ceremony, Stéphane Rotenberg, a famous French TV culinary presenter, and Lorenzo Cogo, the starred Italian Chef reputed for his instinctive and elaborate cuisine at his “EL Coq Restaurant”, who will act as Master of Gastronomy.
The 14 young chefs, originating from 14 different countries, embody the future of the finest gastronomy worldwide and, as creative artists, will confront each other during three challenges: The Masterpiece, The White canvas, and The Grand Finale.
The 2019 Barilla Pasta World Championship’s jury includes five personalities specialized in their own fields, to highlight under every possible way this year’s theme “The Art of Pasta”. From a gastronomy perspective, there will be the starred Chef Davide Oldani, Barilla Brand Ambassador and one of the most fascinating thinkers in the Italian food world, the Italian starred Chef Simone Zanoni (Le George restaurant), but also the French Chef Amandine Chaignot, who was until recently Executive Chef at the Rosewood London hotel. The Australian food photographer & content creator, Ashley Alexander and Paola Navone, distinguished Italian architect & designer, will stress the lifestyle perspective of the competition.
The Reigning Champion, the American Chef Carolina Diaz, first ever-female Chef crowned Master of Pasta, will return during the event to pass the baton on to the next winner. During the Pasta World Championship 2018, she revisited the Italian classic «spaghetti al pomodoro». The question now is to know who will become the next Master of Pasta and with which recipe.
THE ART OF PASTA
The 2019 Barilla Pasta World Championship edition is assembled around the theme “The Art of Pasta” where pasta will be promoted not only as food but also as a piece of art. Each piece of pasta is a small piece of design, which combines beauty and taste. Their form and movement created masterpieces.
The Art of Pasta will influence the gastronomic and lifestyle ingredients of this year’s edition. Attendees will admire the beauty within the creation of the 14 competing chefs during the elaboration of their recipes.
All along the event, guests will benefit from multiple shows from both a gastronomy and lifestyle & Art perspectives. Participating chefs and members of the Jury will perform gastronomy shows. Key opinion leaders will fuel discussions and musical performances will occur during the event.
