10 May 2018
The Barilla Group, world leader for the pasta market and for sauces in continental Europe, bakery products in Italy and the crispbread in Scandinavia, with 28 production sites all over the world, will attend Cibus Connect, a b2b exhibition dedicated to the food industry, organised by Fiere di Parma from 12 to 13 April. For the occasion, the Parma-based company will introduce to Italian and international buyers some new products: over all, Organic Pasta that will be launched in Italy from April, after the positive performance registered in the United States and various European countries, where it was introduced last year.
TASTINGS COURTESY OF THE ACADEMIA BARILLA CHEFS
Cibus Connect will feature also Blue Box Classic, 5-Grain and Whole Grain Pasta, as well as other products specifically created for the foreign market, such as ‘bakery goes global’ and other products of Wasa, Mulino Bianco and Pavesi brands. Needless to say that good cuisine will have its place also: at the Barilla booth there will be two areas dedicated to cooking shows with the Academia Barilla’s chefs, who will delight the visitors with some pasta based ideas at the border of tradition and innovation.
BARILLA INTRODUCES ORGANIC PASTA ON THE ITALIAN MARKET
Barilla spaghetti and fusilli are now organic in Italy also, made with 100% carefully selected durum wheat originating from organic crops. This product has been available since 2016 on supermarkets’ shelves in various European countries and the United States where interest in organic food is constantly growing. Indeed, there is only one way of doing business for Barilla: Good for You, Good for the Planet. And this philosophy inspired the new Organic Pasta Barilla. Today the desire to preserve the environment increasingly influences purchase and consumption choices: in Europe, the organic pasta market is worth 100 million Euro and has recorded an 11% growth.
5-GRAIN PASTA, A GIFT FROM NATURE WITH UNIQUE PROPERTIES
Tasty and always ‘al dente’, Barilla 5-Grain Pasta is a source of fibres, ideal for daily wellbeing. Barilla combined durum wheat’s texture with the sweetness of corn. Spelt, barley and whole grain rye add to fibres’ beneficial effects a unique and decisive taste. It is ideal with every day’s light sauces, as well as the typical Mediterranean sauces based on vegetables, fish and aromatic herbs.
WHOLE GRAIN BARILLA: THE FULL GOODNESS OF PASTA WITH THE BENEFIT OF FIBRE
A serving of Barilla Whole Grain Pasta (85g) provides more than 20% of the daily fibre intake. Its characteristic golden colour comes from whole grain semolina obtained with Barilla’s exclusive wheat milling method and the perfect texture is meant to offer consumers maximum taste, always ‘al dente’.
