I was born and raised in Seville, a city in southern Spain, but I always knew I would leave from a very young age. Internationalisation and multiculturalism have always resonated deeply with me. At heart I am Spanish, but in my head I feel like a citizen of the world.
When I joined Barilla in 2011, after having lived in countries like France, the UK, the US and Costa Rica, it had a profound impact on me. I had never worked for a company with such deep roots and a strong connection to its people and territory.
Barilla has been the best “coach” I could have hoped for. From day one, the company understood me better than anyone else, allowing me to leverage my diversity of background, leadership, style and perspective. It has also provided me with numerous opportunities to transition into different roles along the way.
In 2011, I joined as Global Consumer & Shopper Promo Manager, a position that allowed me to experiment with new tools and technologies to engage consumers and strengthen the bond with our brands.
After a few years, I moved intosales where, as Account Category Developer for the Bakery & E-commerce Business, I had the opportunity to work with Esselunga, one the most important and evolved clients in the Italian market. This experience was pivotal in helping me connect the dots along a path that I can now describe as well-rounded.
In 2020, I became head of Trade Marketing Bakery Italy, a pivotal role facilitating alignment between external demand and internal operations, and focused on interpreting both consumer and customer needs.
This experience was also crucial in honing the skills needed to define myself as a complete manager, particularly in leading a team of young, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals united by a significant goal: “using demand conversion skills to ensure that our products continue to be chosen by millions of households every day.”
October 2024 will mark a year since the company invited me back to my roots in marketing, where I am in charge of creating demand for two exceptional brands: Gocciole and GranCereale, which are not only contemporary in their storytelling but also leaders in their respective segments.
Internationalisation, multiculturalism, team spirit, a sense of belonging and vision are key levers that will enable us to win.
They are levers that I have acquired and cultivated over these 12 years at Barilla, a journey marked by change, challenges, and most importantly, a great deal of satisfaction!
