My story in Barilla started in 2005, only one year after my graduation from the university. Now that I come to think about it, all my working experience is tied to one name only, that of Barilla. My journey so far has been an ever-changing challenge both in terms of responsibilities but also in terms of context.
My experience started in the Supply Chain Planning unit, moved to the Customer Service, then to Manufacturing and now to Logistics. Overall, I have had eight different positions, growing steadily within the Supply Chain function and equipping myself with the experience and skillset needed to build a long-term career in Barilla Group.
My path has been a constant challenge, not only in terms of role but also in terms of location. I am Italian and started working in Parma, the Headquarters of Barilla. Seven years later, I was offered an opportunity in USA in the Production & Distribution Planning department. It is very fulfilling to enrich your knowledge and at the same time, expand your network in such a big company. I got to meet people from another culture and realize in the end, that I receive the same support and connect in the same way. All people in Barilla, no matter where they are located, or what their nationality is, they have the same DNA, share the same values and speak the same language.
The next four years found me in the Rubbiano Sauces plant back in Italy again, heading the Production department and pushing my boundaries even more. Experiencing the manufacturing world at the shop floor is something illuminating. It helps you put everything in place and understand the connections in all the phases of the supply chain. Nowadays, I have moved to the Logistics, being in charge of the International & Overseas Transport first and now being Logistics Director of Italy.
Looking back, I see that Barilla has offered me the means and opportunities to play different roles, meet people and expand my network, adapt in different cultures and challenge myself to become a better professional! I am looking forward to many more years in Barilla!
