I started my career at Barilla in 2010, a few months after graduating in Food Science and Technology from the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza, as an intern in the Quality and Food Safety department.
I've been dealing with quality for eight years and have had the opportunity to work in various positions and find out more about different fields, including the quality of plants, suppliers and raw materials.
In 2014, I was given the opportunity to spend two years working in Germany, at one of the sites of Wasa, our brand of crispbreads.
When I set out, I didn't have a single word of German (let alone Swedish!), but colleagues at the plants in Celle and Filipstad, who I was in frequently in contact with, welcomed me and stayed close to me from day one onwards. This experience also gave me an understanding of the extent to which the company and its people pay attention to hospitality and inclusion.
Since 2018 I’ve been working in Parma, in the Research and Development team, where I deal with recipe development for ready-made sauces, globally. The Research and Development department is the creative heart of a food company: this is where ideas begin, and products come to life.
For me, I always get a strong feeling when I see a new sauce we’ve been working on for so long on the supermarket shelves. Our products always come about as a result of the love, attention and perseverance of everyone who has dedicated themselves to them for months. It all begins in our pilot plants in Parma, courtesy of the cohesive work of many professionals, then it comes to life in our factories around the world.
In my first 13 years at the company, I've had the honor and privilege to work with colleagues from different geographical areas and to learn something new from each of them.
I’m convinced that the best ingredients of our recipes are the passion, dedication and attention that all Barilla people invest in nourishing a better future.
