I remember my first interview at Barilla as if it were yesterday: all the fears that might have arisen in the days leading up to the meeting were immediately put to rest by the welcoming and familiar environment!
In March 2020, I graduated with a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering and, after an initial experience in the engineering sector, in 2021 I joined the fantastic Barilla family at the bakery production plant in Melfi as a Process Improvement Line Leader.
I have always had a strong passion for the food sector: during my university years, I spent most of my free time in a bakery, baking bread, cakes and... making a hash of things!
In 2022, I was given the chance to take on the role of Continuous Improvement Professional at the plant, thanks to which I was able expand my skills and get involved in projects intended to improve the efficiency, quality and safety of the production area.
But Barilla is a company that constantly offers you the chance to grow and take on new challenges: in fact, starting in 2023 I held the position of Maintenance Manager, and then moved to that of Plant Planning and Warehouse Manager, which I still hold today.
The Plant Planning and Warehouse Manager role is very dynamic and allows you to operate across the different areas and functions of the plant. One of my main responsibilities is to improve the sequence of production to match logistical flows, market and factory requirements and the corresponding supply of raw materials and packaging.
Over 100,000 pallets pass through our warehouses every month, and only great teamwork can ensure that such significant numbers and flows can be handled correctly.
Teamwork is indeed a key component of life at the plant: only by working together with love we can create something wonderful.
I don't know what the future holds for me, but I do know that Barilla is a place where every day I can find incentives, hone new skills and contribute, with passion and team spirit, to creating good, quality products!
